Scrapbooking Challenge

Hi All,

We had a very interesting challenge at Swirlydoos (A forum and kit club that I belong to)  this month that I thought you might all find interesting and maybe something that you could all try too!

The challenge was to take one of the very first scrapbook layouts we made when we first started scrapbooking, taking the photo from that page, and doing a ‘redo’ with it in another layout now. This has been fascinating on the forum seeing how everybody’s styles has changed and developed and grown with them on their scrapbooking journey.

So I thought I’d show you mine. My original layout below I did in 2011. It was a 8X8 layout. When I first started scrapbooking I did 8×8 layouts, as at the time a 12×12 seemed so big….all that space! Now even a 12×12 isn’t always big enough!! The layout is very flat and not a flower in sight! For those of you who know me, a layout without a flower nowadays is virtually unheard of!

So here we are in 2015 and this is the ‘redo’!

I really liked the colour palette in the original layout so I kept that. I used Prima ‘Divine’ papers for the background and the spotty paper. The other papers are scraps from my scrap paper box. I love this photo of my kids but because I am now doing my layout on a 12×12 layout I could add the other 2 photos that went with it and make a multi photo page. I added all my favourite things when making a page, layers, inking, masking with texture paste, bunting, mists, embossing powder on the chipboard title and of course FLOWERS!!!!

Supplies used; Prima ‘Divine’ 12×12 paper; flowers are all Prima; Prima chalk ink pad ‘Blossom Bud’;  Joy! Crafts bunting die; Dusty Attic chipboard title; Tattered Angels mist ‘Creme de Rouge’ ; Prima stencil; Dreamweavers crackle embossing paste.

This was really fun to do, why don’t you all have a go!

Thanks for taking the time to look, have a lovely day
